A Merial rabies dog tags, with an identification number, are provided by the veterinarian. The number on all rabies dog tags are used to enter the getmehome.ca Web site and register the pet. If the pet is lost and then found, the information on the dog tags will lead the finder to Merial Canada's pet find site where the owner's contact information can be accessed. |

Dogs should always wear an identification tag and rabies dog tags. When you're going on a trip, you can use a luggage tag to list your destination address and contact information as well as the name and number of a third party in case you can't be reached. |
My veterinarian uses Merial brand vaccines, and the dog tags that came with the rabies shot have a link to the www.getmehome.ca website where each of my pets are registered. I think it's a fantastic idea. The number found on the dog tags corresponds to your pets information not only at the vet if the dog was ever brought to a pound, but if someone found a dog with these dog tags and went to the website, they would have access to your email address and phone number, or whatever information you wish to provide, as well as the option to post a pic of your pet. |
